I am bringing sexy back.

Hi guys!
Look what I got! I've been drooling over those for the last 10 years (I'm not lying) and today I decided that it was time to make that dream come true! I'm really into buying classic wardrobe staples that and not really follow too many of all these fashion rules. Of course, I love fashion, but to me fashion has also something to do with expressing yourself and who you are. I am the kind of girl that buys Timberland boots and has a glittery pink iPhone cover. I don't like to put myself into one or the other category of (fashion) person. I'm just myself, and I try to be as unique as I can so that people recognize me when they see me, hear me, or talk to me.
During the last few months, fashion wise, I have changed in a very specific aspect: I have started to care about my shoes. Before that, shoes and their quality was not of the highest importance to me. The only branded shoes I had were my converse shoes that I've been wearing for the last 10 years. But somehow, during the last months I started to appreciate the quality of fine leather. I decided to show you guys my favorite pairs in the next few posts, so be prepared to seeing some of my babies! Tomorrow, the first post will be about the new additions to my connection that came from the US and that I will be picking up tomorrow at the post office! So, be excited, you know for sure that I am.
Cheers!

i have got a symbol in my driveway.

LOVE them! I went shopping today after getting my money for the last month of working long hours at the office and onsite at the current customer in Africa. I definitely deserved it, I would say... What do you mean? Should I keep them? I'm currently in an experimenting phase with my style, I notice it has grown into a business chique with rough edges... Yeah, I guess that describes it quite well.
Another topic is my hair. Lately, I had been thinking about changing it. I mean, like letting it grow... I felt like a short or even a longer bob would suit my new job better than my short cropped hairstyle. But today, I decided not to do that. I have never felt prettier than with my short hair, so why change it?! I decided to have it cut tomorrow, and I have been searching for some inspiration. So finally I decided I want to get the hairstyle that Frankie Sandfort had until she had it cut this summer... If you don't know what I'm talking about, just wait for my post tomorrow ;-) I'll have my new haircut and hopefully a first outfit post for you...

So, that is it for today. I'm awfully tired, because I haven't slept all night on the flight home from Africa. So I will talk to you tomorrow, until then
cheers!

{Edit: sadly, I had to return them because they were too small... and there is no pair in my size available in all of Germany. Damn! }

back to blogging.

Hello there. I am sitting in my hotel room and I have decided to start blogging again.
Since my last post, a lot of things have changed. I have finished my studies, I have started a new job as a consultant, and I live in a new city. Right now I am talking to you from Malabo, which is the capital of Equatorial Guinea, where I am on a business trip.
I am really looking forward to sharing things with you guys again!

cheers!

blogpause.

hey guys, i decided to make a pause of blogging for a while. i am in the process of finishing my studies and have to learn for my finals. also, i am on jobsearch, i have to move out of my apartment... there is just a lot going on, and unfortunately i don't have the time to blog regularly anymore.
i do want to return to blogging in summer, though, so don't delete me from your reading lists :)

cheers!

won't you come on over and stop making a fool out of me.

hello you all! i know, i havent't been blogging for a while. sorry for that, but i think i'm going through a little tiny depressive phase right now. i had and have a ton of stuff to do for uni... hate it! tomorrow i am goingt to madrid for the weekend, i want to visit my granddad who lives there. i probably won't see him for a long time... today i was (window)shopping in frankfurt, and had lunch with my boyfriend who works for a bank in the city center. i totally fell in love with these shoes from zara! i want them soooooo badly! can't get over them. but they'll have to wait for me, as i don't have the money to afford 80€ for shoes right now. maybe in madrid, when the weather is nice and i'm in the mood :D

talk to you soon guys, thanks for following!
cheers

my outfit of the day... i know, the skirt is waaay to short.

so in love with those!

tick tock on the clock.

i got a new watch! ordered it for a few € on ebay, still don't know why, but it arrived today and i kinda love it, haha. just perfect as an accessoire for long party nights or simple outfits.

cheers!

u can't touch this!

love love love these pants! they are SO mc hammer meets one thousand and one nights!  i got them in bangkok, where you could get them at almost any little shop along the street. i instantly had a vision of high heels and a black blazer, and it totally worked as i found out tonight :)
i went to have dinner with my dad, his wife and a friend of ours from thailand, who was in germany because of the international tourism fair in berlin. we had a nice evening and i ate waaay to much schnitzel! my presentation today went well, so one less thing to do. yay! tomorrow i'm gonna take some time to go to dm and buy some natural cosmetic products... my dad's wife persuaded me to search for healthier options than the stuff i usually use. it really is true: you don't necessarily have to buy stuff containing harmful ingredients. all righty, i'm gonna go to be now - sooo tired lately, don't know what's wrong with me!

cheers!

some people live for the fortune.

totally apologize for the bad quality of the pictures, the lighting was horrible and i didn't really have much time. this was the outfit i wore yesterday in the evening, when i went to a tem meeting for my governance presentation. we prepared and updated the slides and after that we cooked together, which was very nice :)
on thursday i'm going to a huge st. patrick's day party in wiesbaden! sooooo excited! i already have painted my nails green, hehe.

cheers!

shake your tailfeather.

today i wore a simple light-pink shirt and a grey jeans. nothing fancy, i admit. but i combined it with my new favourite necklace i got at F21 in washington. isn't it beautiful?! i love it! the feathers, the golden metal chain, the leather... everything! oh and i got a bag, too. it's this typical alexa look-a-like. i have one in brown, but sometimes i need a black one and so i got this rather clean interpretation of the alexa from filene's. do you like it?

besides of that, my day was not too busy, in the afternoon i worked on a text i need for a presentation in governance. yawn!

cheers.

dear mister president.

well, well... i had two interesting days on monday and tuesday. i spontaneously decided to join my mom on a daytrip to washington, D.C. we arrived in the afternnon on monday and left tuesday in the afternoon, ha. we basically had to run through the city to see all the sights i wanted to visit, but we made it! you can see it yourselves:

capitol
capitol
world war II memorial
lincoln memorial
lincoln memorial
washington monument
me :)
breakfast

i had the best time! honestly, it was SO cool that we could go up to the top of washington memorial for free! you have the best view on everything from up there, and we were so lucky with the weather... so all in all, it was totally worth flying a total of fifteen hours to walk around in washington for 10 hours. globalization is crazy, right?

on a nonrelated topic: i fell in love with a leather trenchcoat from burberry. it is freakishly expensive, but AWESOME!!!

from burberry online shop
i adore the padding and the zippers, so elegant and cool at the same time! i'm kinda into the whole motorcycle trend right now, i would actually kill for the isabel marant red biker pants

uni is quite boring these days, not meaning that i have nothing to do, but rather that the things i have to do are superboring yet exhausting. i'm gonna go to bed right now, as i didn't get a lot of sleep during the last days and i have to be fit tomorrow for a day-long lecture on aviation strategy. yay!

cheers!

grew up in a town that was famous as a place of movie scenes.

i found this absolutely stunning picture from Revue De Modes S/S 2011 via Casey's blog. she's GORGEOUS, don't you think?!

i've been quite busy with uni lately, and honestly i'm having a pretty tough time because of my sucky bachelor thesis. i really should have put some more effort into it. we'll see how it works out, in about 3 weeks i'll know more. additionally, i've been having a series of 8-hour lectures in aviation management, which are quite exhausting. been putting up some new things on kleiderkreisel, maybe you find something you like...

i was planning to fly to new york with a good friend of mine for 2 days next week, but i had to cancel the trip because of some uni stuff and my bank account (i hate being broke! maybe i wouldn't be that broke if i didn't spend all my money on travelling and clothes, haha). but i guess i'll compensate the loss with a daytrip to london on monday. alone. no one has time for me. i'm such a lonely person. awwww! but at least my dear camera will come with me, the only friend i can rely on :)

one last picture: the paella my grandma made for me when she was here last week :) yummie!

cheers!

i've got some impressions of my apartment and today's outfit, sorry for the bad quality, my grandma is here with me and i didn't have the time for nice shots..

cheers!

the paradox of our age

today i just want to share with you a phantastic piece of writing that i found on Lily's blog. it is one of the most inspiring texts i have read in a long time and i thought you might like it too. i'll be back soon with outfit posts and other stuff, one more day to go for my dissertation!

"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, yet more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space, but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; big men and small character; steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes, but more divorce; fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.
Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember to say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember to say "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.

i know it's cheating if you don't post pictures of yourself on your blog, but you have to understand that my time is too limited right now, i'm working on my dissertation day and night...  so instead i want to tell you about jack sparrow (pirates of the caribbean) and how he inspires me fashionwise. he's just always so dirty yet stylish... i love his eye makeup, haha. and i'm soooo into chunky rings with stones and skulls right now, as soon as i hand in my paper i will order some online :)

have a nice evening

cheers!

like i'm the only girl in the world.

i know it's not cool to like rihanna anymore, but i l.o.v.e. her style and her music, and she gave me the inspiration to cut my hair almost 2 years ago. i simply like that she constantly redefines herself and has the courage to look stupid sometimes, too. but sometimes this leads to phenomenal photos, like this one i found on Adela and Tessie. the dress is decorated with LPs! how cool is that?!

cheers!

shoes.

buffalo

jeffrey campbell

i'm thinking about getting one of these... what do you think? i know, it's sooo blogger and i usually hate these trends that seem only to spread across the "blogosphere". but i like these litas so much! the buffalo ones are kinda great though, too. i like the gold detail at the back but i don't quite like the peep toe thing going on... oh well, i'll have to wait for at least one more week till i get my monnneey. i'm very proud of myself, i haven't bought a single piece of clothing since i promised myself not to (edit: just noticed that was only 9 days ago, hahahaaa) :) so yay me! ok, gotta go to my desk,

cheers!
